All About Autumn

Aistear

Aistear has been very interesting this  month and children have been extremely helpful in providing leaves, conkers and acorns for our Aistear play and art areas! :)

Maths

Ready, Set, Go Maths is an excellent oportunity for children to use hands on activities to help them understand number and early maths Skills. As well as it being a great foundation, children love all the activites that go along with the learning in 'Ready, Set, Go Maths'.

A September Rainbow

In September
Apples are red,
Leaves of yellow
Fall on my head.

The grass is brown,
The sky is blue,
Flowers of purple,
And orange pumpkins too.

Some trees have leaves
That are still green
A rainbow of colour
Can be seen!

Spooky Seniors!!!

We had a very fun week leading up to Halloween! The children really enjoyed learning all about spiders and bats. They made delicious chocolate apples and even dressed up! Well done to all the children and parents for making such a great effort in the costume department! :)

Flutter Flutter Little Bat

Flutter, Flutter little bat.
How I wonder where your at.

Swooping through the darkest night
You find your way without a light.

Flutter, Flutter little bat.
How I wonder where your at.

Christmas Festivities

All the children from Junior and Senior Infants spent many days and hours practicing the songs and their lines for the annual Christmas Play. This years play was 'A Miracle In Town'. The children performed for both the school and for their parents with both shows being a great success. Well done to all the children for doing a fantastic job as well as mammys, daddys, grannys, grandads and all those involved in the making of the costumes.

Snowball

I made myself a snowball
As perfect as can be
I thought I'd keep it as a pet
And let it sleep with me.

I made it some pajamas
And a pillow for it's head
Then last night it ran away
But first it wet the bed!

Water, Water, Water!

Waterproof and Non- Waterproof Materials

Senior Infants worked in groups to decide which material would make the best rain coat for Paddington Bear.
The children first made their predictions. They then undertook the experiment. And last, they recorded the results!

Pitter, Patter Raindrops

Pitter Patter Raindrops,
Falling from the sky,
Here is my umbrella
I hold it up so high.

When the rain is over,
The sun begins to glow,
Little flowers start to bud,
And grow and grow and grow!

Floating And Sinking

Spring has Sprung!

Spring

Spring, Spring is coming soon,
Grass is green and flowers bloom.

Birds returning from the south,
Bees are buzzing all about.

Leaves are budding everywhere,
Spring, spring is finally here!

We Have A Little Garden

We have a little garden,
A garden of our own.
And evry day we water there,
The seeds that we have sown.

We love our little garde,
We tend it with such care.
You will not find a faded leaf,
Or blighted blossom there,

Food Glorious Food!

We Made Smoothie Bowls....
