Fourth Class
Ms. O'Connell

Welcome to Fourth Class

Gaeilge i Rang a Ceathair

Seo Faisean!
Bhí na daltaí i rang ceathair ag foghlaim faoi eadaí agus bhí seo faisean againn! D’fhoghlaimíomar a lán phrasaí nua agus bhí an craic againn! Nach bhféachann siad go hiontach?

Drama

Our class got the amazing opportunity to work with the playwright Michelle Read this year. The children listened to Michelle tell stories, they played games, acted, improvised, created, wrote and performed their own mini-dramas.

Ms. O’Connell and Ms. Read wrote a blog documenting and reflecting on the process, you can access the blog by clicking on the link below. You will find many pictures and recordings of the children at work throughout the blog.

Music in Fourth Class

In 4th class we have been very creative. The children have learned how to clap, read rhythm, to sing and identify the notes of the major scale. They used this knowledge to create their own original musical compositions.  We hope you enjoy listening!

Chamber Choir

Our school chamber choir are busy rehearsing every Tuesday after school. Please listen to our rendition of ‘Carol of Bells’ which we performed at the Christmas Carol Service.

Writers Corner

The children worked very hard at writing this year. They tirelessly planned, drafted and edited their narratives. Their hard work paid off because we created not one, but two illustrated books of short stories.

SESE

The children collaborated in groups to complete projects on the Celts, the Greeks, the Romans, the Vikings and Italy. They engaged in research, practiced report writing and drew pictures and maps.

Art

Our class created lots of beautiful artwork during the year. Please take a look through our gallery.
